September 9, 2023 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.– Community Service Project – Package Meals For Low-Income Veterans. War Memorial Veterans Building, 401 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco, no business meeting in September.
October 7, 2023 10:00 a.m. – Program Wreaths Across America. Brenda Kaesler, CSSDAR Vice Chair Service for Veterans, Wreaths Across America and Regent, NSDAR Linares Chapter will talk about this moving annual event that brings millions of Americans together for a wreath-laying ceremony to honor veterans laid to rest and teach the next generation about the value of freedom.
November 4, 2023 10:00 a.m. – Program Fashion and the American Revolution - Taxes weren’t just on tea. Barbara Murray Fashion Historian and Santa Clara University Professor Emeritus Barbara Murray will explore how American fashion impacted and was impacted by the Revolution as we take a brief look at fashionable dress, the dress of the working class, and the important development of an American textile industry in the Colonies.

December 16, 2023 - National Wreaths Across America Day, Golden Gate National Cemetery, 1300 Sneath Lane, San Bruno. Meet chapter members at ceremony site at 8:30 a.m. Ceremony begins 8:45 a.m. Join other volunteers to lay wreaths on graves of veterans. Wreath placement immediately follows ceremony.
January 6, 2024 10:00 a.m. – Program History of Librarians. Joan Gallagher will touch on some of the profession’s fascinating history such as the Pack Horse Library Initiative, which sent librarians deep into Appalachia, riding up into the Kentucky mountains with saddlebags stuffed with books to distribute reading material to isolated rural people.
February 3, 2024 10:00 a.m. – Program Presidential Dessert Plates. In honor of Presidents’ Day, author, anthropologist and genealogist Judy Kimball (NSDAR Presidio Chapter) will bring her collection of reproductions and explore the historical context of twelve U.S. presidents and their first ladies in the design and acquisition of their presidential china.
March 2, 2024 10:00 a.m. – Field Trip - Guardians of the City First Responders Museum, 655 Presidio Avenue, San Francisco. Join us to view the museum’s exhibits, artifacts and records of San Francisco’s fire, police and sheriff’s departments and many of legendary Lillie Hitchcock Coit's personal items. Our tour will also include a presentation about the history of the Sheriff’s Department in San Francisco.
April 6, 2024 10:00 a.m. – Program Finding Women in Your Family. California Genealogical Society volunteer and former CGS Board Member Maureen Hanlon’s presentation will cover seven sources for beginners to find female birth surnames. A case study will illustrate how a great-grandmother's name was discovered and validated.
May 4, 2024 10:00 a.m. – Program How Dry I Ain’t: Prohibition in San Francisco. San Francisco historian John Freeman will share the history of how our city found ways to circumvent federal rules, economically prosper, and indulge with our more relaxed attitudes.
